The product: ANIÁN The Denman Collection.

Why we love it: B.C. clothing brand ANIÁN has introduced a new range of pieces that tap into oyster farming.

Dubbed the Denman Collection, the release has a men’s and women’s outerwear design (aptly named The Denman) with buttons made from 100 per cent recycled plastic sourced from farmed oyster basket trays. The trays were collected through a partnership with the Ocean Legacy Foundation.

“For over a decade, we have been working to bring circular production to the outdoor and fashion worlds,” said Paul Long, founder of the brand.

“With the help of Ocean Legacy Foundation, we’re now able to reduce our use of conventional plastic through the salvaging and crafting of these unique, first-of-their-kind buttons.

“Had we not created a second life for these oyster farming trays, they would have ended up in the landfill, on shorelines, or in the ocean.”

The Denman range features a tailored button-down topper crafted from a recycled cotton and linen-blend chambray material in two shades of grey.

The price: $115 to $135.

The retailer: Anianmfg.com.
