Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign Is Back, Making a Difference for B.C.’s Kids

Vancouver, BC (May 2, 2023) – BC Children’s Hospital Foundation today announced that they will receive 100 per cent of the proceeds of every Smile Cookie sold at select Tim Hortons locations across Metro Vancouver during the Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign, running this spring from May 1 through to May 7, 2023. Each cookie costs $1.50, plus tax, and can be purchased at any Tim Hortons restaurant, or by placing an order through the Tim Hortons mobile app for delivery.

Smile Cookies are made from Tim Hortons’ chocolate chunk cookies and are hand-decorated specially for the Smile Cookie campaign. 125 Tim Hortons stores across British Columbia have selected BC Children’s Hospital Foundation as their Smile Cookie partner to support. In 2022, the Smile Cookie campaign raised $167,328.94 for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.

“Each year, BC Children’s Hospital provides specialized care to more than 138,000 kids throughout the province. The community support we receive from passionate partners like Tim Hortons is essential in our work to overcome childhood illnesses and improve the lives of countless kids and families. We are grateful to everyone who adds a little sweetness to their day, or someone else’s, with the purchase of a Smile Cookie this week,” said Rita Thodos, Executive Vice-President, Philanthropy at BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. “Proceeds raised from campaigns like Smile Cookie go directly towards ground-breaking research, state-of-the-art technology, and programs that support clinical care, to ensure that sick and injured children across B.C. receive the best care possible.”

The annual Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign supports over 600 charities and community groups across Canada. The first Smile Cookie campaign was launched in 1996, originally raising funds for Hamilton Children's Hospital. Since then, the annual charitable campaign supports local hospitals, community care organizations, food banks and schools.
